Leland and Gray Administration
Overview
Two professionals comprise Leland and Gray’s administration, the Principal and Director of Student Services. This model was established in fall 2011 based on the recommendations of Dr. Ray Proulx, who authored the 2004 report, Review of Administrator Functions, Roles, and Responsibilities at Leland and Gray. This restructuring has allowed the principal to focus on student achievement, classroom instruction, teacher training, program development, budget, and student discipline. The Director of Student Services supervises several academic departments, including unified arts, cooperative and career education, physical education, and health, as well as support services for regular education, including advisory, attendance/truancy, and (guidance) counseling. The Director of Student Services also serves as the school counselor for grades seven and eight.
Leland and Gray’s administration regularly consults with school and district employees, including individual faculty and staff, the Information Technology Coordinator, the Athletics and Activities Director, the Windham Central Supervisory Union Superintendent, Chief Financial Officer, Special Education Director, Information Technology Director, and 21st Century Community Learning Centers Director. Additional consultation is provided by Leland and Gray’s Faculty Council, Middle and High School Student Councils, Parent Advisory Group, and the School Board. L&G’s administration welcomes individual and group dialogue to offer ideas and suggestions from any members of the school community and beyond.
